On 13th January a volunteer teacher from the USA came to our school to help the English and bilingual departments for three months. The school has a bilingual section where the students can take courses like Physics, Biology, Geology, Chemistry and Physcial Education in English. Elizabeth Pool will be teaching all the students but will focus on the ones in the bilingual section. Since the students are interested in learning about America they were very anxious as they awaited Elizabeth's arrival.
Elizabeth met the students by introducing herself and the United States. She talked about her life in Arizona (her home state) as well as differences from the USA and Spain. As a part of her presentation, Elizabeth showed amazing pictures of the most famous places in Arizona such as the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Havasupai Falls among others.
Also included in the presentation she discussed what daily life is like in the USA, traditional food, holidays, hobbies, typical houses, etc. The students had an opportunity to ask questions and converse with Elizabeth about topics they were curious about and vice versa.
